"I live in Newthorpe, Nottinghamshire, close to the beautiful Felley and Watnall woods in the heart of D.H. Lawrence countryside which, towards the end of April and May, are carpeted with the stunning display and aroma of bluebells which I love to paint.
I painted in oils for a number of years, but recently became greatly influenced by the medium of soft pastels for their versatility and ability to capture the immediate freshness and delicacy of tone in a composition.
As acting secretary of a local art group, I still find time to enjoy my passion for walking and hill climbing and return eager to capture the ruggedness of the ‘Edges’ in Derbyshire and the beauty of the woodlands of Nottinghamshire."
