Inspired by wilderness areas, Nottingham artist Paul Dyson strives to capture the atmosphere of the environment and the beauty of wildlife through his favoured medium of watercolour enhanced with white gouache, which allows him to achieve the finest detail.
Meticulous observation and research have always been a priority taking him to many beautiful and remote areas of the world, from Iceland, Africa, the Peruvian Andes, Canadian Rockies, National Parks of America, snowshoeing in the Pyreness, 20,000 feet in the Himalayas to watching Tigers in India.
Paul has already received considerable public recognition through exhibitions nationally and has won numerous awards. He also does public slide and talk shows and can be seen working at various exhibitions throughout the year. There is a series of 79 limited edition prints, many of which are available to purchase from True Colours Art Gallery and all are available to order from the gallery.
Paul has worked on three worldwide art books and cards produced by the RSPB. Through his work he supports and promotes various wildlife and environmental charities including Care for the Wild, The Twycross Zoo Conservation Welfare Fund & Cats Protection He also is a member of Twycross Zoo, Care for the Wild, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, Seplilok Orangutan Appeal, NEWA (National Exhibition of Wildlife Art), SOFA (Society of Feline Artists) and the SAA (Society for all Artists).
